Protect Your Home
Fires, Earthquakes,
Floods, Tornadoes, and other natural disasters take many people by surprise.
It is important to have a plan and know what to do if your community is struck
by a natural disaster. A disaster plan, an
Emergency Preparedness kit (Video), and a good insurance policy are important things to consider to prepare for
natural disasters.
Protecting your home from Wild-Fires
Wildfires can be incredibly destructive when they
sweep through a community.
With proper design and maintenance of your landscaping, you can create a
defensible space that
slows or prevents a fire from reaching your home. There are also design and maintenance options to
prevent your house from
catching fire should a fire reach your home.

Get a Good Insurance Policy
When a fire or natural disaster hits, sometimes there is little you can do to
protect your home. An insurance policy can reduce the burden in the case
of damage to your home or the total loss of a home. Each insurance policy
is different. Some policies exclude flood, earthquake, and other natural
disasters and a supplemental insurance policy is necessary. Ask your
insurance agent about what you policy covers and what it dose not cover.
When you get an insurance quote, consider adding supplemental insurance coverage
to protect against natural disasters not covered under the basic policy.
